Prior Lake is a growing city south of Minneapolis within Scott County. With a population of 23,000 people, Prior Lake has been expanding economically, commercially, and residentially over the past 10 years. Accessed by Minnesota Highway 13 and County Roads 21 and 42, Prior Lake is less than an hour away from the Twin Cities. Having just revitalized the downtown area, Prior Lakes expects continued growth in the upcoming years. The largest employer within Prior Lakes is the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC). The Prior Lake/Savage School District serves the City of Prior Lake and has several different elementary and secondary schools.

There are over 100 miles of trails and sidewalks as well, letting residents enjoy the natural beauty of their city. 14 lakes are within the area including Upper and Lower Prior Lake.
