Setting the Tone - Home Staging

Home staging has become a rage in recent years. Real Estate pros know that first impressions are very important and that how your home looks to prospective buyers is extremely important, not only in the price you obtain, but whether it will sell at all. I always speak to sellers about the “wow” factor that must happen when they first walk in the front door. I consider the entry as probably the most important area of a home to properly stage because a buyer makes up his mind right away as to whether they like the home or not. If you immediately set the right tone in the entry, the buyer’s frame of reference is set to more positively look at the rest of the home. The same is true of the outside of the home in the front yard. It is important that the rest of the home also allows the buyer to imagine themselves and their belongings in the home to mentally “make it theirs”. Decluttering of the whole home is very important, as is taking care of deferred maintenance and badly dated decorating. I have posted an article on my website,mnhomesbydave.com,  under the Real Estate News tab which gives some great economical ways to improve the staging of your home. It is from Inman News. Sellers need to remember that the way you sell your home is different from the way you live in a home. Thanks for reading.
